A discount broker provides services such as executing buy and sell orders. Discount brokers typically provide only basic trading services and do not supply investment advice, as compared with full-service brokers, who do offer advice to their clients.
In general, a discount broker charges a lower commission than a full-service broker because a discount broker does not advertise the product, show the product, call potential buyers about the product, or give investment advice.
