Menopause is a process which all women undergo, and this process differs from woman to woman. Menopause occurs when the ovaries stops producing estrogen, which causes the reproductive system to 'shut down.' Since the ovaries no longer produce estrogen, the tendency is for the body to adapt the changes in the level of natural hormones in the body. Because of this reaction in the body, the woman will experience vasomotor and atrophic symptoms. Menopause technically refers to the cessation of the menstruation cycle.
