Infertility in a man is commonly caused by the quantity and quality of the sperm that he produces in a single ejaculation. The risk of infertility is great once the quality and quantity of the sperm has been affected by his health or lifestyle. Some things that may increase a man's risk of infertility include:
- Excess intake of alcoholic substances;
- Drugs;
- Environmental toxins such as pesticides;
- Smoking cigarettes;
- Other health problems;
- Medicines;
- Radiation therapies; and
- Age.
