Adoptions are disrupted for two major reasons. Initially, when the adoptive parents discard the terms and conditions of an adoption agreement then it is considered as disrupted. Discarding the terms and conditions may vary. For instance, it can happen that the adoptive parents literally abandon their adopted child. Violation of any terms and conditions may also be a cause for disrupted adoptions.
Secondly, adoptions are disrupted when an inverted process of adoption takes place. For example, the biological parents change their mind and seek custody of the child.
