Hair loss or baldness in men is determined by different factors that may be present in an individual. One of these is the genetic composition of an individual. If his father suffered from male alopecia, it is possible but not certain that he will suffer from it as well.
Another factor is either the overproduction or the reduction of the male hormone called testosterone. This is the hormone responsible for developing male characteristics like body hair. As soon as there is an uneven production of testosterone, hair loss can occur.
Aging can also be a reason for male baldness.
