It is normal to shed hundreds of hair strands per day. However, if you are shedding more than five hundred strands of hair daily, this is abnormal. This type of hair problem is called alopecia or male-patterned baldness for males.
Alopecia is not experienced just by men; but some women suffer from it, as well. If you notice that you are shedding more than a hundred hair strands per day, you may be among the many who suffer from alopecia.
