You should grip the ball forming a T with your index fingers. One hand should be under the ball and the other hand should be on the side of the ball. The hand under the ball should be the one to push the ball toward the goal, which is the basket, and the hand gripping on the side should be the one to point the ball toward the goal.
This is usually done during free throws. But if you are going to dunk the ball, you must grip the ball as hard as you can until you shoot it. There are plenty of ways, but it is important to grip the ball securely while aiming a shot.
