Vertical jump is simply defined as the ability to raise a player's gravity higher in the vertical plane and use his muscles to do the shoot. It is measured as to how high a player can jump off the ground and land on again, still standing.
Your vertical jump can be increased through strength training. You should focus much of your attention on the posterior chain, that is, the glute muscles, lower back, claves and hamstrings. These muscles are used in doing the vertical jump. With constant drill or practice, these muscles can gain more strength, which will improve your vertical jump.
Aside from improving your strength, you should also try to increase your speed. Speed is the measurement of how fast you can do the vertical jump. Speed is important, as it can be a great help in winning the game. Strength training is also a requirement if you want to improve the speed of your vertical jump.
