Bond maturity varies depending on the original agreement. It may be as short as one year to as long as a hundred years. These are some bond maturity classifications:
- Short-term bond - The bond usually matures in one to three years
- Medium-term bond - Maturity of the bond ranges from four to ten years
- Long-term bond - Reaches maturity in more than ten years
