Bandwidth is the process by which a certain amount of data is passed through a communication channel in a specific time. In electronic transmission, bandwidth is the width in series of frequencies that is used by electronic signals in a specific communication medium.
Bandwidth also describes the difference between the higher and lower frequencies of an electronic band radiation.
In computer networking, bandwidth is the same as the data transfer speed. Data transfer speed is the total data which is carried from one place to another in a specific time. The bandwidth in a computer network is generally expressed in bytes per second (bps).
