Osteoporosis is a condition where the bone density decreases and therefore the risk of fracture increases. Everyone's bones thin as we age. Studies have proven that weight training or weight-bearing exercises can significantly increase bone mass. A simple half-mile walk every day can also increase bone mass.
However, if you have osteoporosis you should first consult your doctor and then also tell your weight training instructor about your condition in order to get the weight training program that is best for you.
