The bed linen count that is best for sensitive skin depends on the quality of the fiber. Higher quality fabric is much softer with 200 thread counts than fabrics having 400 or higher thread counts if the sheet is made of an inferior quality of cotton or with threads that are twisted. Bed linens must be made with premium cotton, such as Pima or Egyptian cotton, to improve the fabric and make it softer.
