Aside from being able to choose the way you want to make donations to a certain charitable institution, you can also designate how you would like your gift to be used. You can either designate it to the area of greatest need or allow the charitable institution itself to decide how the gift will be used. Furthermore, it gives you an option to make a gift in honor or in memory of another person (such as your loved ones).
