The best way to store clothes is just as you store bed covers and linens. Cover each piece of clothing with white tissue paper or put it in a plastic before putting it into storage. In this way, you will keep the fabric from getting contact with anything else stored nearby.
Remember: stored clothing should be taken out, checked, and washed or drycleaned at least once a year.
