Keep your batteries at room temperature. Remember that too much heat can shorten the life of your batteries while a wet place (like your refrigerator) is not an advisable spot for them, either.
Also, do not place loose batteries in your pockets because they can short-circuit if they come in contact with metal objects like your coins or keys.
