The slope is the ratio of the rise (in inches) to the run (measured in per foot or per 12 inches). It is one of the factors considered in selecting the best roofing style. There are roofing styles that have either low or high slope requirements.
Aside from determining the roofing style, slope is also important if the roof is prone to leakage or other damage. Roofs with high slopes tend to collect more water.
Slope also establishes what kind of material will be used in installing or renovating a roof structure.
