Incandescent light produces light by a shimmering filament. The filament is heated by white-hot electric current. Incandescence is the light-giving method. A glass container or bulb encloses the filament.
Incandescent bulbs normally contain a low-pressure vacuum to produce oxidation of the filament with a high temperature.
