In general, people under hypnosis become more receptive to suggestions, causing some changes in the way they feel, think, act, and behave. There are also some cases where the patient experiences a subconscious stage.
On the other hand, hypnosis can affect the patient’s consciousness, depending upon the execution of the specific hypnosis command.
Unconsciousness can be experienced in hypnosis if the command execution was from the awakening stage. From that stage blood pressure, reflexes, psychochemical and EEG levels increase, which all affect consciousness.
