Bacteria, microbes, and other residues can grow and multiply in filters if not changed regularly or if neglected. Depending on your system, a filter should be changed every 2 to 6 months.
For the optimal performance of any filtration system, its inner part (or membrane) should also be changed regularly. Most of the time, people forget to clean the membrane, which causes bacteria and microbes to grow within the filter system and results in contamination.
