While it is true that anxiety attacks can stem from things like childhood experiences and personality traits, anxiety attacks are not always psychologically-based. Instead, symptoms may manifest themselves from an accompanying physical illness (such as hypertension, for instance). In this case, the anxiety disorder treatment you seek might become more involved.

There are so many reasons that anxiety and panic creeps into our lives. It could be something very simple, such as spilling a cup of coffee. It could be something very emotional like a death within the family. On some days, you are able to laugh off that spilled cup of coffee. The very next day that same incident might make you burst into tears. Since every person has their own triggers for stress that means that every person also has their own ways of controlling anxiety, as well. People who deal with anxiety find themselves becoming drained emotionally and physically exhausted.

The fact is that everyone experiences anxiety at different points in their lives. Some of the unwitting triggers come as a thief in the night, others come on gradually. As much as we would like to think we have complete control, the fact is that the physical things happening in our bodies during stressful moments can prevent us from having the control we'd like to have.

Don't beat yourself over the head. Instead, learn new techniques for relaxation, breathing, stress management and better problem-solving.
