An internal frame backpack is composed of two parts located inside: a small frame and the cloth covering it. The frame is made of metal or a specially designed polymer molded to one's back to provide a superior fit.
A complex series of straps works together with the frame to distribute weight ly and hold the pack in place. This type of backpack only provides small lashing points, making it difficult to lash large or heavy objects onto the backpack.
