If the size of your backup exceeds the capacity of the disk, first determine the size of the file that you are planning to backup. Then divide the files either by sorting them or by randomly arranging them.
After separating the files, you can start by transferring the first half of the files to a CD and when it is done, you can go on with the second. This will keep some of the files from being separated from their folders.
