Hydration packs have a drinking tube connected to a bladder in the actual backpack. Some hydration packs are designed with a bladder only and shoulder straps, while others have side pockets and a casing that makes them look like regular backpacks.
Larger backpacks may have a detachable bladder with a specially designed compartment for the bladder and provided with holes for drinking tubes. A hydration pack's purpose is to carry drinking water.
