Why is my refrigerator making a funny noise?

Check the fan found in your freezer. Perhaps it is stopping and starting intermittently, which probably is the reason why the fridge is making a funny noise.
If you discover that this is the problem, spray the bearings of the fan with WD-40 or put some grease on it. This should alleviate the noise, at least for a while.
