Like most other living things, fish need light to grow and live. Sunlight is essential for your fish and also for your aquarium plants. However, do not over expose your aquarium to sunlight, for it may heat up the water too much. It is a good idea to put your aquarium near a window where it can only catch the morning sun, or in a place where it only receives indirect sunlight.
