Alcoholics Anonymous or AA is a voluntary, charitable fellowship of recovered alcoholics. It was established in 1935 to help alcoholics in their recovery and supports them in their process of quitting the habit. They use the Twelve-Step Program created by AA for recovery of alcoholics. The Twelve-Step Program has since been used by other organizations, as well.
