Acne is caused by different factors. Most dermatologists believe that the development of acne cannot be blamed on one single factor, but should be attributed to a combination of the following factors:
- Genetics. Studies show that it is highly probable for you to develop acne if your parents had it.
- Lifestyle. An unhealthy lifestyle can cause acne. This includes bad diet, lack of exercise, and improper skin care.
- Stress. Exposure to too much stress triggers the development of acne.
- Hormones. This is normally true for individuals in their adolescent years. Studies show that during the adolescent period more oil is being produced by the body. Furthermore, women who undergo menstrual periods are highly susceptible to acne problems.
