Symptoms of depression differ from person to person but usually are similar for each episode in the same person. Symptoms almost always include:
* Loss of interest in tasks you used to do.
* Feelings of sadness. Strict mood swings are also one of the most significant depression symptoms.
Other symptoms may include four or more of the following:
*Impatience and unpredictability.
*Feelings of unimportance or guilt.
*An increased or decreased desire for food, with a corresponding increase or decrease in weight.
*Thoughts of suicide; sometimes an instant decision to commit suicide.
*Feelings of despair and doubt.
*Sleeping badly or sleeping too much; an irregular sleep routine.
*Loss of energy and will to live.
*Difficulty or inability to concentrate, identify, and decide.
