Many children with cerebral palsy have problems with sufficient food intake or particularly avoid milk and other dairy products because of allergies. Since dairy products are rich in calcium, vitamin D, and phosphorus, this could lead to nutrient deficiency, which destroys standard bone density. This condition, known as vitamin D deficiency, is what makes children with cerebral palsy more susceptible to fractures.
