In some instances cerebral palsy patients are prone to respiratory illnesses. Patients with severe forms of the syndrome are often more susceptible to other diseases, especially with those having significantly low weight mass. A number of people with cerebral palsy may suffer from any or a combination of the following:
- Visual impairment
- Impaired distance judgment or spatial perception
- Dyspraxia – A few cerebral palsy patients have problems in performing everyday tasks such as getting dressed
- Epilepsy – One in every three cerebral palsy patients suffers from epilepsy
