If this problem occurs, it means only one thing: you need to clean your fountain pen. A fountain pen has is a sort of residual ink well that keeps the tip stocked. After a certain amount of use, this residual ink well needs cleaning to perform properly, or it can become clogged with dried ink. A fountain pen should be cleaned at least every two months, or oftener if it starts leaking or skipping.
