Kittens can start to be box trained as early as 3 or 4 weeks of age. It is not usually necessary for you to teach a kitten how to use a litter box. Just make sure that your kitten knows the location of the box. Place the cat gently into the box and soon it will catch on.
If trained cats sometimes "go" outside the box, you probably need to clean out the litter box.
