There should be a regular schedule for cleaning your fountain pen, especially if you are constantly using it. Here are some helpful tips for cleaning a fountain pen:
- Use lukewarm water and ammonia, or some type of cleaning agent made for the pen.
- Remove the nib of the pen and flush it under a stream of warm water.
- If the water does not flow clear right away, place the entire nib in a paper cup and soak it in water overnight.
- Rinse the on the next day, and if the water still does not flow clear, then repeat the process.
- Once the nib is clean, replace it on the pen and you're back in business.
