You should not feed adult dog food to a puppy because the two kinds of food don't have the same ingredients. Food for puppies is made to support their rapid growth. Puppies need special nutrition which is not available in a regular adult dog food. Most dog food manufacturers have a special formula for puppy food that contains 28% to 30% protein.
Furthermore, adult dog food may not be compatible with the puppy's stamina, causing health problems.
