This depends on individual preference, but both types are a good choice if:
- you are willing to accept their grown-up characteristics;
- you raise and train the dog properly;
- you are willing to accept the dog's potential for health problems and genetic defects; and
- you are willing to pay the respective amounts for their purchase.
The only time when the purity of breeding makes a difference is if you plan to show or breed dogs yourself. As a family pet, a "Heinz-57" mixed breed mutt may be just as good as a purebred.
