A coaxial cable is what you will usually see connected to your TV if you have cable TV. This cable consists of a round conducting wire that is surrounded by an insulating spacer which is in turn surrounded by a conducting sheath.
A coaxial cable is used as a high-frequency transmission line to carry a broadband signal. It is also used for high-speed internet connection.
