Field glasses are small portable binoculars used to view distant scenes. This type of a binoculars has no prisms, allowing it a limited and constant magnification power. Field glasses are often used at operas (where they are called opera glasses), concerts, and outdoor sports where the audience is fairly distant from the performers or athletes.
