Yes, freezing can help preserve balloons. People have also found that freezing can actually restore balloons that have been exposed to heat. For example, if you are working in direct sunlight and you forget to store your balloons in a cool place and your balloons feel soft and hot, you can easily restore them by putting them immediately in the freezer for a few hours.
