More than just the benefit of earning a degree online sans all the other hassles of academic life, one can now even acquire a degree using his/her life experiences. Many online schools have a Life Experiences Program wherein you can obtain a degree by using the skills, training, and other ‘hands-on' experience you have gained in the workplace or through a training course or a workshop. This program is best for people with basic to expert skills, talent or know-how in a particular field, but without the educational documents to prove it.
Many online schools offer to assess and evaluate a student's life experiences for the possible granting of a degree. There are even some institutions whose life experiences degree are almost equivalent to an Associate, Bachelors or Masters degree.
And while most employers still go for a professional in a particular field, a life experience degree is slowly gaining recognition from many employers because it certifies an individual's capabilities and skills. There are a number of employers who accept credits conferred through a life experience degree, and it can even be useful for job promotions or advancement.
