Aerobic exercise is a continuous activity that includes the entire major muscle group in the body. It also forces the heart, lungs and tissues of the body to work harder for an extended period of time.
Aerobic means requiring oxygen. Aerobic exercises include walking, running, swimming, climbing and biking.
In performing a moderately intensified workout, you need oxygen at the level or below the level of the cardio respiratory system. The lungs and the heart can replenish oxygen in the working muscles.
