A trademark is a form of identification of goods or services. It could be a word, phrase, acronym, logo, or other symbol. It is used to distinguish a manufacturer’s product from others. It is different from a patent; trademarks do not give exclusive rights over the product to its manufacturer. It simply inhibits others from using the marks in commerce.
