There are several advantages and disadvantages of regular exercise bikes compared to recumbent bikes:
• A regular exercise bike is often used just because it is more available at gyms and workout centers. However, there are complaints about the back pain that is sometimes experienced after working out on a regular exercise bike. A recumbent bike is much easier to work out with, aside from the fact that it does not usually cause back pain.
• Regular exercise bikes are cheaper than recumbent bikes; however, recumbent bikes burn calories more effectively than regular exercise bikes.
• With a recumbent bike, you will work out all the major muscle groups in your body, compared to a regular bike that only works on the lower body.
