You can use the helpful hints below to help your homeschooled child get in and do well in the college of his or her preference:
• Know your child’s potential interests and skills.
• Keep a record or portfolio of your child’s work. It will serve as your child’s transcript.
• Contact the schools or universities where your child wants to attend. Know if the school admits homeschooled children and if they have special requirements for them.
• Know other requirements other than the transcript. You'll need to know if your child must take an admission exam or simply needs a letter of recommendation.
• Teach your child to correctly answer some possible questions during the interview. Most colleges admit homeschooled students because they know how to reason out and answer simple questions like “Why should a homeschooled student be accepted in a university?”
