Yes, you can use a dimmer switch with your chandelier, but make sure that the dimmer suits the wattage of your bulbs. For instance a chandelier with a 100-watt bulb is not appropriate for a 600-watt dimmer.
Also, when choosing a dimmer switch for a chandelier, make sure not to choose a dimmer designed for a ceiling fan.
