Bear in mind that the safari areas of Africa are in the southern hemisphere, so the seasons are opposite from North America. You can go on safari anytime, but the summer months (November through February) can be pretty hot. If you are into big game viewing, the best time to go is during the winter dry season, from May to August. The spring months of September and October are also good times for a safari.
