The advantage of buying from an individual or resale is the price; it is much cheaper than buying from a resort or developer. Buying from a resort or developer can cost 60% more than buying from an individual or resale.
Besides, buying a timeshare resale has the same benefits as buying from a developer or a resort at a much cheaper price. But before buying a resale you should research the property and the contract to insure you're getting the best deal for your needs.
