Sometimes we need referrals from the people we know to hire a good roofing contractor, especially when we are unfamiliar with that type of business. Several questions like the following can be asked of the references you get from a roofing contractor:
* Initially, ask about their relationship with the contractor. Maybe the contractor is a friend or a relative of your reference. That will give you an idea that your reference really knows the contractor well.
* Ask if they have used the services of the roofing contractor themselves. Ask them if they personally watched the construction of their roof, at the same time letting your reference talk about the quality of service.
* Lastly, ask about the reliability of their finished product -- how well it withstands the elements and the weather.
