In traditional landline phones, the voice is transmitted as analog audio signals. However, in VoIP, the signals are transmitted as digital data to the person being called. The computer or VoIP phone picks up the voice and converts it to digital data, allowing it to transfer via the internet.
VoIP is also transmitted through the internet. This means that your voice will not travel through traditional phone lines. You will only need an Internet connection and a VoIP phone and service.
