Having flood waters and sewage in the basement is a major problem. This can be a breeding ground for microorganisms that are hazardous to health, and the most common type of microorganism that will grow is mold or fungi.
The first thing to do is to clean up the mess. Do it through water splash and brush scraping. Make use of detergents to kill bacteria. Dry the place and make sure that it will not accumulate more moisture. Keeping the place clean and dry will ensure a mold-free basement.
