The best thing to do if your child is allergic to mold is to prevent mold from growing or accumulating in your home. Patrol all the moist areas in your kitchen, bathroom, and basement regularly and clean them out before mold gets a chance to grow.
Air filters and purifiers can also help by controlling the dust particles that carry mold. However, do your homework in selecting the right air filter or purifier, as some work significantly better than others.
Most children who are allergic to molds are asthmatic. Untreated asthma can be dangerous and even deadly. If you suspect your child may be allergic to mold, you should consult your child's physician for advice and treatment.
